Country Club Speed Mitigation Petition

Additional Help Needed for
Speed Mitigation Petition

We had several people volunteer to collect signatures, but we need more participation from the people on Country Club.  If you can help, please contact Steve Brigham President@RillitoBendNA.org

Below is the note sent to the people who volunteered after the Neighborhood meeting.  You can download the map and petitions.

As a result of our RillitoBend Neighborhood meeting last Saturday, we have a group of volunteers willing to help circulate petitions for the four speed tables proposed for speeding mitigation on Country Club between Prince Road and the Tucson Racquet Club & Fitness Center.  This message is going to those volunteers identified on Saturday and to other residents in the Country Club area listed in our RillitoBend email list. Please forward this email to others in your area that are not on our list.  We need 60% of the residents along Country Club to sign the petition.

For the volunteers and anyone else willing to circulate petitions, please let us know which properties you are going to approach so that we can coordinate the petition effort – and minimize redundant efforts.   Download the petition and map HERE

As you approach residents and property owners, please summarize the following:

  • The recommended proposal is to install four 3 inch high x 20 foot long speed tables on this section of Country Club which will help drivers keep their vehicles within the posted 25 MPH speed limit.
  • We are required to obtain signatures for 60% of the residents and/or property owners in the highlighted area. The City will determine and verify if we obtained the required 60%.
  • Remember that for apartment complexes and other businesses like the Tucson Racquet Club, we only need a signature from the property owner or representative.
  • For townhouses, condominiums or single-family homes, individual signatures from the individual residence are needed – note that a renter can sign the petition if the owner is not available.
  • For properties with a Home Owners Association (HOA), it would be best to start with the HOA to get initial support from the governing body.  The HOA can also likely assist with getting signatures.
  • For vacant properties, you can list the address and simply note “VACANT” without a signature.
  • Once the signatures are gathered and approved by City Transportation, we then apply to Ward 3 to seek the four speed tables required for the project.
  • Since the Council office only gets five speed tables per year under the “Speed Hump Program,” it may be more than a year before we can proceed with the project.

When petitions are signed, please return them to Lindy Brigham, Secretary for RillitoBend by scanning and emailing the partitions to:RBNA_Roads@RillitoBendNA.org   Alternatively, you can drop petitions off in our front vestibule anytime at 3754 N Camino Leamaria in the Rancho Morado neighborhood.

If there are any questions, please contact Stephen Brigham, RillitoBend Board President directly at President@RillitoBendNA.org or 520-955-2601.

Thank you for your support of this important and long overdue project.
